Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
We purchased an exteneded warranty on our vehicle, we have since traded the vehicle in. I called the warranty company about cancelling the policy, they informed me that I needed to fax something in stating that I wanted to cancel the policy, which I did on March 15th. They told me it would take 6-8 weeks to receive the refund. 6-8 weeks have passed, I have called and spoken to a woman who told me I am on their priority list for my refund, and I would be received 892 or 982, I can not remember which one.
My question is, what is my next step, what can I do to receive my refund?

Number one, stop using a telephone or a fax. Send these folks a PAPER LETTER; keep a copy; send it by certified mail with a return receipt requested (the postage will be around $5.50). Tell them what you told me (the whole story, complete with dates) and tell them it's time for them to give you your money and to stop delaying. Give them a time deadline - tell them "If I have not received the refund by June 25, I will assume that you do not intend to pay it, and I will file suit against you for fraud and breach of contract."
