Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
I purchased a timeshare from a resort. I thought I was purchasing a resort in Texas when I was actually purchasing a resort in Georgia. I also thought I would be getting certain items with the timeshare and that was not the case. I spoke with the resort personnel and they informed me that they would not buy back the timeshare nor will they give me a free upgrade for the false advertisment. I would like to close my bank account and not pay them at all. Is this a good option? If not, what should I do? Thanks for your help.
Sincerely,
Monique Shepard

Yes, if they are somehow debiting your bank account, go and close the bank account TODAY.
Write them a letter (a paper letter - no phone calls or emails) and tell them what you've done, tell them that you didn't understand what you were buying, tell them what you THOUGHT you were buying. Tell them the contract is canceled.
It will help if you hang onto any advertisements they used, and any paperwork associated with the contract.
