Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Question about Hot Checks
I list auctions on Ebay and received a hot check. I have contacted the person via email with no response. I would have called him but he does not list a phone number on his checks. Can I file charges against this person? This person does not live in Texas. He lives in Washington state.
Thank you

Re: Question about Hot Checks
Typically, collection on non-sufficient funds checks is handled by your local County or District attorneys. If your situation cannot be handled by one of those offices, consult with a private attorney regarding your legal options for recovery.
Also contact Ebay, they should have set policies and procedures in place for dealing with such matters.
