Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Refund on recreational vehicle
I live in Texas. I bought a new pull behind travel trailer the third of July. On the very first trip we experienced a blow out on the front right tire (double axles) which caused some secondary damage under the floor. Also, when changing the flat ($80), the mechanic noted that there was rust and corrosion on bolts, stripped lug nuts, a torn undercarriage. We immediately notified the dealer (July 5) that we were having these problems and were concerned of our safety. Are we within our rights to demand a ''refund''?. We have spent about $1000 on rims, new tires, and service just so we could make it home safely.

If you bought it "as-is" then you're stuck. Otherwise, you may have some options because not much time has gone by. See what you can accomplish with the dealer. If they are not being responsible, you can report them to the BBB, ripoffreport.com, etc.

What did the "new" travel trailer cost? If you wish to return, and get your damages...first ask dealer. If they refuse, hire a lawyer who could ask for damages under DTPA..and if demand is denied, with proper proof, you may recover treble damages and attorney fees..IF the seller has assets
