Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Reposession
Can a repair auto repair shop reposses a car over a $1,200 ac job? I used a credit card and they are saying that the authorization code they received back in Oct. is invalid and the charge came back to them.

Re: Reposession
Unless they have a proper lien, they can't reposses. They could file suit on you for the amount owed.

Re: Reposession
If the credit card company reversed the charges, that means the work wasn't paid for, and the mechanic has a valid Garageman's Lien. That allows them to repo your vehicle.
Check your credit card statement and see if the credit card company actually charged you for it and didn't reverse the charges. If the work hasn't been paid for, best take care of that ASAP.
