Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

Who is responsible for payment

I am on over the road truck driver who owns his own equipment, while in Demming, N.M. I blew my transmission, on the way to a delivery in Mesa,AZ. A friend of mine found a shop in Phoenix where he bought and paid for the tranny, this was a rebuild anyways I paid for the instalation of the tranny back in Demming,N.M.and went on my way, after picking up another load in Long beach, CA.the tranny that was bought and paid for in Phoenix,AZ. also went out costing about 2200.00 to repair, now I have a bill for 4700.00,the cost of the first tranny that should not have had any problems, but it did, now I am stuck with 6900.00 in a transmission that should have only cost fourty seven hundres without the cost of installation, now my friend, a business relationship wants his 4700.00. I dont know wether to pay him or not since the tranny only made 1700 miles, there was a problem somewhere in the tranny, am I liable to my business relationship for the 4700.

Re: Who is responsible for payment

You are responsible for paying the lender. Your beef is with the shop that sold the tranny, not the lender who bought the tranny for you.
