Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Return/Exchange of Out of Warranty Merchandise
A customer came into the electronics retailer where I work with a monitor that he claims is defective, demanding a refund or exchange. However, he had no proof of purchase and the last time we had even carried that product was over a year ago, exceeding our posted return period and even the manufacturers warranty period. He proceeded to threaten to call a local news reporter and take legal action, stating that to not help was a deceptive business practice. Is this true?
