Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

Rights to ownership of a car bought by two people

My son and his Grandmother purchased a car together. Both of them had to sign paper work to purcase the car and a credit check was run on both of them. I do not know if it was purchaed as she and he or if she was a co-signer. Before one note was made she took the car away and told him if he took it she would call the police and report it stolen. The car is registered in his name only and insurance was in his name only. She also told him she was going to sell it. Can she do this without his signature? Does he have any legal rights to the car? I beleive she paid it off, does he owe her for the car in this case? Can he go and get the car without being arrested? What measures does he have to take to re-claim the car if he has rights to it?

If the title to the vehicle was taken in both names, then she may have a hard time selling the vehicle absent his signature. If you have any additional questions, I will be glad to be of assistance.
