Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Ripped Off In the Worst Way-
A 21 year old man who makes just a hair more than minimum wage bought a car another young man and the engine blew up. He then took it into an American Engine Franchise in Corpus Christi Texas and paid $1000.00-$1500.00 ifor a replacement engine. 9 months of excuses and even the co-owner showing him the engine was replaced and waiting for an additional part... the young man finds the shop was shut down, the car is locked up inside due to the co-owner not paying rent and stealing money. The young man has limited resources, 9 month of no transportation and sadly no car or engine..and $1000.00 lost.
What can be done to assist him. He was also told that he can't get his car until the owner releases the property to him.

Re: Ripped Off In the Worst Way-
He could spend $50 to $150 and go to JP Court claiming his car..but if shop is closed, apparently the owner has no money,...etc..good luck
