Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

Safety issue on trailer hitch-up

Our trailer hitch break-away switch link cable is too long and dragging on the road, wearing down at one spot and was installed by our RV dealer when we bought our new RV. One end of the link cable is attached to the break-away switch and the other end attached to the safety chain hook clasp which is hook up to the towing vehicle hitch receiver, and when the safety chain is pulled, the link cable is loose and will not activate the break-away switch which will apply emergency brakes on the RV in the event that the hitch ball mounting should disconnect and the RV is hanging on by the safety chain to the towing vehicle. This looks like a safety issue and negligence on the part of the RV dealer and the RV manufacturer. Do we have a legal case against the parties responsible for putting us and others at risk? Please advise.

Re: Safety issue on trailer hitch-up

You may have a "Lemon Law" issue, but not a personal injury issue.
