Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
sale of car audio euqipment
My 16 year old son sold his amplifier & sub woofer from his vehicle to a friend. At the time of sale the equipment worked perfectly. The purchaser immediately modified the sub (i.e. adjusted how the speakers fit into the sub & drilled new holes into the sub). Now this person says the system does not work & wants his money back. He states that if he does not get it, he will take my son to court. What are my son;s options. Is he obligated to return the money paid to him?

Re: sale of car audio euqipment
Probably not. If the friend sues him, the friend will have to prove his claims. If your son did not guarantee the product, then the friend is not likely to prevail.
