Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

Seller has not delivered car title

I purchased a car that had been leased. Honda finance sent him the title with his name as purchaser. He is unwilling to pay taxes and get the title in his name, so he can sign it over to me. It has now been over a year that I have been waiting to get this straightened out. Two questions, is there a way to get around him paying sales tax, and I paying sales tax? Also what recourse do I have since he has not provided title.

Re: Seller has not delivered car title

The sales tax has to be paid. If he is not going to pay it, you can pay it. Sounds like you might have to sue him to get the title. This sounds like a screwed up deal. If he is selling you the car, he does not have it to sell. The car belongs to Honda. I hope you have that part straightend out. Otherwise, you problems are bigger than you realize.
