Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Seller won't return e-mails regarding purchase on ebay
I bought an engine from a seller in Minnesota on ebay. Before bidding I asked if it was a 2.3 and he assured me in e-mails that it was. I agreed to pay shipping (C.O.D.) and asked how much it would be and he said ''about $150.00''. I paid for the engine by credit card on PayPal. I picked up the engine a few days later and the shipping was $258.00 (''about'' $100 more than he stated), then found out it was not the right size engine, it was a 2.0 and not a 2.3 (I still have the e-mail with the question and answer). Now the guy won't answer my e-mails and I need to know if I have any grounds to file legal suit or criminal charges, or if I've just been had. I've already spent over $550.00 total on this and my wife is getting really stressed. Can you tell me what I should do? Thanks

Re: Seller won't return e-mails regarding purchase on ebay
You have grounds for a legal suit under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Of course both ebay and Paypal get involved if you file a complaint with them.
You can stop the credit card payment if you act swiftly enough.
