Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

No service or refund

I ordered hair extensions for my girlfriend from a stylist who had done extensions for her before. The stylist required half the cost, $400, up front to order the hair and make the appointment. After consideration and past problems with the stylist, my girlfriend did not want it done and gave the stylist 48 hours cancel notice. The stylist became verbally abrusive and will not give me the hair nor return the $400. The stylist says she owns the hair and the money is for her trouble. The was no written contract between her and I, nor did she tell me anything was non-refundable, claims she's making now. I know this isn't much money and may not get any return, but I think this stylist is ripping me off and may be doing the same to others. She takes only cash, no credit cards, so she may be cheating taxes too. I just want to teach her a lesson about cheating folks.

Re: No service or refund

Sue her in small claims court and let her explain her actions to the judge.
