Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
What to do.
I sold a car to an individual. He paid me
cash, I gave him a reciept and the title and he said he
would pick-up the car the next day. It has been six weeks +
and the car has not been picked-up, nor have I heard from
the buyer. I did not get his name or phone # to contact
him. what can I do now? What are my options? Since I
need to get the car off my drive way.

Re: What to do.
Check with the County Assessor Collector and see if the individual has registered the car. If not, you are responsible for safely holding on to the car until the individual reclaims it. You can charge a storage fee of $15.00 per day.
If you knew his name and address, you could have taken care of the matter directly by giving notice by certified mail that the car would be sold by a certain date unless picked up and storage fees paid. But until you find out that information, you are in the position of being the owner of a storage lot.
