Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Is store obligated to sell merchandise as displayed?
I recently purchsed 2 bed sets from a furniture store. The beds were displayed in the store as having 8 under bed storage draws. When the bed arrived they had only 4 under bed storage draws.
I contacted the sales person and manager of the store. The sales person admits that he represented it as being 8 drawers but says that was a mistake.
The manager is refusing to deliver the additional drawers unless we pay the stores ''cost'' for the drawers.
The total price is at a level I would have never purchased the bed to begin with.
So may basic question is, is the store obligated to sale me the bed as displayed and as the salesman represented?

Re: Is store obligated to sell merchandise as displayed?
Yes. If what they showed is what they said they were selling, then delivering less than that is a violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practice Act.
