Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Vehicle purchase
Is it illegal to lie about a vehicles' past record. In other words if I ask a sales man if a vehilcle has been in any wrecks and he tells me that it hasn't, do I as a consumer have legal grounds for going back to the dealer and requesting a different vehilce that was sold as is?

Re: Vehicle purchase
Lying about a vehicles history to a buyer can be grounds for filing a suit under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA). One of the grounds for filing suit under the DTPA is misrepresentation.
