Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
2 Problems: Rent a car Location and Auto Insurance Co.
I was told I could have my rental car for X amount of days; until I received my claim check. ok. 3 months later the rentacar location charged a large amount of money onto my credit card WITHOUT my consent, saying that my insurance company will not pay for any more of the rental charges. I cannot contact my claim rep, never answers the phone, who told me I COULD have the car for these X amount of days. I have an issue with them and also with the rentacar place for making charges on a card that was simply for holding purposes, Who also told me in a conversation REGARDING THIS ISSUE that this card would never be charged. all that would happen is ''we have no choice but to suspend your charge privileges'' (asked them what that statement meant, their answer ''I could not rent from there company'' asked if that card would be charged, their answer ''NO, absolutely not'' I have every conversation documented as close as possible, from the day I rented my car until now, I have every correspondence that has been sent to and from me.
PLEASE I NEED ADVICE! Thank you.

Re: 2 Problems: Rent a car Location and Auto Insurance Co.
Write to your insurance company and let them know their agent isn't responding to you. Let them know the same information that you've posted to LawGuru.
Insofar as your credit card is concerned, the clerk apparently lied to you. If the insurance company can't or won't pay, the rental company is entitled to charge your card.
If the matter is under $5000, you can sue your insurance company, for what they should have paid, in Small Claims.
