Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

7 year old debt

I have a 7 year old debt with a telephone company in which they evidently just sold my account to a creditor. The telephone company has not tried to contact me in at least 6 years. I know they cant sue me because of the SOL but can this creditor put it back on my credit? And how do I get them not to contact me again?

Re: 7 year old debt

If they put it on your credit report complain to the credit bureau, and contact the creditor concerning their violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Write to them, certified mail, state that any action is barred by SOL, and all subsequent contact is to be by mail ONLY.
