Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Accelerated Death Benefit

Mother in-law terminally ill. Has life insurance with accelerated death benefit. Also has lots of debt. Are the creditors able to claim the accelerated death benefit. Is it better to wait till she passes? Or does it make a difference?
