Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
Accruing Intrest on a loan that is in default
I have a loan that is in default from a Credit Union in Grand Prairie, Texas and has been turned over to Credit Union Recovery Services. They are telling me that the $50 a month I am sending them isnt enough because the loan is still accruing interest from what it was at the credit union. I want to know if a loan can still accrue interest once it is placed for collection. Or what the laws states in regards to that manner. I am paying all I can, but at this interest rate I will never get it paid off. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Accruing Intrest on a loan that is in default
Generally, a loan in default will continue to accrue intrest. If you are unable to reduce the principle on your loan(s), you may want to review your bankruptcy options.
