Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Allready Paid, No Payment Showed

Hello, I was wondering. I paied my cingular bill, $120, but they are not showing a payment on the account. I checked the Money Order and it was cashed. I keep on getting bugged by the Collectors. What Can I do, and can they take me to court? I have a Email of the money order information, is that ok? Thank you for your time.

Re: Allready Paid, No Payment Showed

You'll need to get a copy of the money order showing both front and back, then send a copy of that to the collector with a letter stating that you had paid the account (see attached), that you dispute the debt, and that all subsequent communications are to be in writing. That goes by certified mail, return receipt requested. Send a copy to the creditor, if different from the collector. Make sure you keep a copy of the letter, the certified mail chit, and the green return card, to prove that you gave them notice.

That should bring the matter to a halt.
