Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I have approx. 66k bal. on different credit cards, no way to pay it, due to the economy affecting my business . I have received threats to sue me, I have a home, no rental property. What is the best way to resolve this problem, I have always had good credit and took pride in that BUT now I barely make enough money to pay for necessary utility bills to be paid .

What are my best options with trying not to file bankruptcy. And can they legally put a lien on my home ? Please advise.

Write cease and desist contact letters to each creditor to stop harassment ..and if sued, defend ie..hire a lawyer...but the only lien on your home is for taxes/home improvements etc..very limited..and does not include credit card or other debts even after judgments..
