Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Attendance in court

Hi, I am being sued by a local store for not paying for stuff that I had bought. I had used my credit card to pay for the stuff and for some reason the credit card didn't pay. Now I have been requested to go to court and I just wanted to know what will happen if I don't show up? Other than having a judgement against me and owing them the money, will there be any other repercusions for not showing up? In other words what other consequences will there be? They won't be able to arrest me right? Please respond back as soon as possible on this. Thank you.

Re: Attendance in court

They can't arrest you for a civil debt. If you have any excuse why the credit card company should have paid, showing up and explaining may help.
