Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

bad check

hi, my friend wrote me a non sufficient funds check in los angeles, but her home addy is in houston texas, and her bank is in Ohio, i tried to go thru the dist. attorney in Los Angeles and they said im not qualify since its an out of state bank, so can i turn it over to the district attorney in texas or where her bank is in ohio?

The complaint would be filed in Texas. However, if the check was not given for a contemporaneous receipt of goods or services (buying groceries with a bad or stopped check, for example) then it's strictly a civil matter and not a criminal complaint.
