bad check?

weeks ago I wrote a check (900 dollars) and that moment there was enough money in the bank, but I lost my job and when they put this check in the bank 2 weeks later it was returned. Several times I made a proposal to them to make monthly payments. But they not want to listen and they want to file charges. Can they do that when I am willing to pay? Only I can not pay that in one time. Thanks.

They can file charges, but I don't expect them to stick, since the check was good when tendered. Make sure you have your bank statement showing how much you had on the date you gave them your check.
