Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Bad Debt Collection

I have a signed fee agreement with a client. I performed the services requested but have not gotten paid after repeated requests.

If I have to go to court to collect my fee I will need to hire an attorney. Can I collect on my attorney fees which I have been spent in addition to the past due fee for services? Location will be Texas.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Re: Bad Debt Collection

Yes. Texas law allows for the recovery of attorney fees in a suit for breach of contract.

Bear in mind that getting a judgment does not guarantee collection of a money judgment.
