Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

We bought a mobil home in 1984. After we got it we found out it had many defects. The company agreeded to take it back. And they did. About 6 years later I got a letter from a company that said they had bought the contract from the first company. And they were filing to collect on it. I contacted them and told them the whole story. After that ANOTHER company poped up with the contract, and they placed a lein on our home for the amount of the first contract. I went to the county record dept. and told them what had happened, I was told that the only one that can remove that lein is the company that placed it on there. That company is no longer in business. How can I get that off my record? I didnt know it was on there till a few years ago when we tried to get a home loan. Our home is paid for, but was told the reason it was turned down was because of this lein. It is over $30,000.

It has been about 9 years since it was filed. What can I do???

Contact a lawyer in your area..if there is a "lien" it may be removed by Court Order..but a lawyer expereinced in real estate would be able to get the records...take proper action..but so far it seems you have only hearsay..do you have documents concerning the "lien"..take them to whichever lawyer you choose...call our office and we would tell you if we could help
