Re: bounced checks

First contact the hot check department of the District Attorney's office of the county where the checks were written. Give them the specifics of the situation, and find out if your situation can be prosecuted. (not postdated, etc.) If so, there is a specific demand letter that you have to send to initiate the process.

If not, then you will have to sue them civilly. Possibly an attorney in the area will be interested either as a flat fee or a contingency.

Re: bounced checks

If the check was made for goods or services, file suit immediately to begin the collection process, including an action to attach assets of the writer. You may also want to file criminal charges if appropriate. You may call for a free consultation.
