Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
My boyfriend defaulted on a payday loan five years ago & now they are threating him with federal prison. Can they do that?

Not even a little. We don't have debtor's prisons in this country (except for child support). It is unlawful for them to even make those kinds of threats. Have your boyfriend contact a consumer law attorney in your area.
