Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

My brother had past away on February, he had a debt with best buy. As i let them know he passed away they told my that my parents are responsible for paying it off. But as i know anyone who is over 18 is independent and his parents have nothing to do with those kind of things. My brother was 20 he was independent and worked for everything alone, because my parents are limited on money. And my question is do we really have to pay the debt , are we responsible for it ?

No, your parents don't have to pay the debt. That's nonsense. All they are trying to do is to see if your parents are naive enough to pay it. Tell them to leave your parents alone or else they will be hearing from your lawyer.
