capital one issues
My question is can a credit card comp. still tak on late fees and other fees after selling my husbands account to a creditor? He started out with owing $300 to owing $1000 in a little over a year after my husband closed the account . and we are now getting two collection notices, one by a debt collector and another one by capital one. If not what can we do about this situation. this just doesnt seem right to me.

First of all, you can't close an account while you owe money on the account. The interest rate credit card companies can charge used to make loan sharks blush.
Contact the debt collector by mail and let them know that Capital One is still in contact with you and you prefer to deal directly with them.
