Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
we had our car repossessed last night. The reason the credit union gave us was that they say we did not have full coverage insurance since 2007. The added full coverage insurance to our loan and now say we have to pay 4400.00 of the 8000.00 just to get our car back. we did not find out until last night that the insurance agent or insurance company did not give us full coverage as requested but liablility only. The insurance company says they cannot do anything because we cannot prove we asked for it and our agent is no longer working for them. if we let the credit union keep the car and not pay on the loan what will happen in the state of texas? will a lien be put on our house? will our savings and checking account be garnished? what is the law on this? we do not have 8000.00 to pay.
