Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Car Repossession

I financed a car last month. I put down $1200 and agreed to $300 deferred payment. My son went to the hospital and I missed the payment. I called and left them a message letting them know. Me and the collections manager played phone tag for a week or so. I told her that I would be making the payment on Wednesday she picked the car up on Tuesday. The car appeared on my credit report as a repo the next day. Do I have any recourse? Can I receive part of my down payment? Am I not supposed to have 30 days before this placed on my credit?

A day late, or a dollar short, and they can repo the vehicle. That can be reported as soon as it happens.
