Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Car repossession

My husband's mother financed a car for him with VW Credit. She has died and at the time she died he fell ill and had to have emerg. surgery and was in ICU 16 days and rehospitalized. He was released (he is disabled with vascular disease) and sent in the death certificate and was told to wait for a letter. It has not come. He has made a payment last month but we are two payments behind due to the hospitalization. He has been continuously in touch with them and today, without previous mention, they said he has to surrender the vehicle within 24 hours. We are trying to raise the two payments but they said it does not matter. He cannot walk and there is insufficient public transportation.

Re: Car repossession

One really needs to visit a lawyer with all the documents for a correct answer But they can come pick up the car unless you keep it locked in a garage or some place they cannot find it...but get all the documents and see a lawyer NOW..
