c-card question law suit

hello, had a c-card in wis. moved to tx never heard from them at all down here.Now my husband is disabled do to a mental break down. Got servied with a law suit against him from a wis card comp.now says out of ark. he is not able to respond to their stuff.is suing for a whole lot i can pay thyem $25.00 a month on this bill but don't know wheir to tell them that .his income is 879. a month i can not work due to he is not to be alone .so how do i respond to this letter to the court .they say they can get judgement against him fine but they also say they can take his ss check for payment can they.he owns nothing .so what do i do.i am told to reply to court by 10-4-04 or else.

They can't garnishee his Social Security payments. You need to find an attorney in or around Grayson County that's familiar with the federal and Texas Fair Debt Collection Practices Acts. It sounds as if the bill collector has stepped over the line, and may be liable for statutory penalties of $1000.
