Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Checks submitted for credit card payments

If I send my credit card company a check that says in the memo section ''Paid in Full' and they cash it, am I liable for any balances over the amount of the check?

Re: Checks submitted for credit card payments

Yes, that trick does not work unless there is a GENUINE dispute as to the amount owed. Even then, I think you need to show a history of disputing the account and warning them that you are going to do that.

Regardless of you writing "Paid in Full" in the memo section, you are still liable for your debts. The only time that you can use the settlement in full accord and satisfaction is when there has been a dispute to the amount owed. If my law firm can assist you with this or any other legal matter please contact my legal assistant Jennifer ([email protected]).
