Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Civil Judgement

I understand that a person's checking account can be taken to satisfy a judgement. Can any amount in the account be taken or can funds to cover normal household expenses be maintained without risk of loss. Also, is the Judgement only good in the county in which it was granted thereby exempting a new checking account opened in an ajoining county.

Re: Civil Judgement

The entire checking account will be garnished except for funds legally exempted, ie. proceeds from the sale of a homestead within 6 months, etc. The garnishment is good only for the specific bank and the specific account.
