Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

How to collect ''lawsuit money''.

A few years ago, together with some student, I won a lawsuit case against a flight school (they had ''collected'' our money and then vanished). I believe the responsible individual ended up in jail, since even the FBI prosecuted him. My question is: how do I proceed now in order to collect the judgement money (if, I am still entitle, too?).

(I attempted to contact the attorney we once had, but he moved on to other practice).

Thanks in advance for your help.

Unfortunately, collecting on a judgment is frequently harder than getting the judgment in the first place. If the judgment was against a corporation, and the corporation has folded without assets, the judgment is valueless. Same with an LLC.

If against a business that was a sole proprietorship or partnership, then you can go after the owner or partners personally, if you have served them personally.
