Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

collecting on a judgment

I was awarded a judgment on June 19th of just over $1,000. As of this writing I have not received anything. How do I collect? I know about the Abstract Lien, the Writ of Execution and the Garnishment of Wages. Which is best? How do I know which to use? If one doesn't work can I use another? If I garnish the wages is it a one-time shot and if they don't have enough in the bank to cover then it's my loss? Thank you.

Re: collecting on a judgment

This forum cannot teach you the law. You have a judgment, and need to either contact an attorney to collect on it, or do further research at the law library. For what it is worth, however, you cannot garnish wages on a civil judgment.
