Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Collecting After Being Paid

I obtained a loan from Quik Payday. When it was time for me to pay them back they tried to take it out of my bank account, as it was agreed upon. At that time I didn't have the money to pay them so when they tried my bank sent me a NSF notification and it cost me $25 dollars and another $25 dollars to put a stop on them. Could I send them a money order for the amount I owe them to stop them from trying again? After I send the money order, should I close my account?

Call Quik Payday and tell them what you propose to do. They'll likely be glad to take your payment in the form of a money order. Make sure you understand where and how they want you to send the money order.

The bank will probably not let you close the account until you have paid your NSF fees and any amount they covered for you. After that, it's completely up to you whether you maintain that account.
