Re: collection agency

General creditors cannot garnish wages in Texas. If you ask a debt collector to stop calling you at work, they are supposed to stop. You should send them a letter telling to cease and desist from any and all contact with you regarding the debt. Send it certified mail, return receipt requested. If they continue to call after they have received the letter, you have a case against them for violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
