Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Can a collection agency in Texas sue or levy my account for money owed 3 or 4 years ago? The charge was made on a Chase credit card & I tried to get them to lower their interest rate or the amount & they would not work with me for years ago. Now I received a letter saying the collection agency said they are going to sue me or levy my accounts.

IF they have a judgment against you and IF they know where you bank, they can garnish your bank account.

From what you're saying, it would appear that they CANNOT garnish your account. In other words, it's an empty threat; they're trying to scare money out of you.

Do you have an account with Chase? if so, they may even though they have no right without a judgment...but yes they can sue..and you need to defend the lawsuit as you probably have defenses..and if they get a judgment they may garnish funds IF they know where you bank..
