Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Collection Agency Wanting Rent Payment

I had to run out of an apartment complex where my wife and I had a vehicle smashed and our lives threatened. We skipped out and wrote an apology letter. LPC owned the complex and either assigned or sold our debt for breaking the lease to NCS, a colletion agency. They started calling me at work and I sent them a cease comm. Now they have reported to the credit agency and I don't know if they are suing me or what not. The amount was about $920. All I can do is wait but is their no action I can take against them or should I wait and see what they do first? I don't like them on my credit report and my letter did say don't put it on there.

Help.

Re: Collection Agency Wanting Rent Payment

Unfortunately, you skipped out on the lease. What you did puts you on the wrong side of the issue.
