Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Collection on Judgement

I recently received a judgement against me. I do indeed owe the debt and have stated that to the creditor and their attorney. Now I am receiving letters from the attorney and a local constable saying they will be arriving on September 17 to seize personal property to sell for the recovery of this debt. Can they take my jeep (which is paid for) etc to recover this debt? I am not attempting to dodge the debt - if I wanted to do that, I would have filed for bankruptcy - but I am currently unable to make $10k magically appear. What steps should I take?

Re: Collection on Judgement

They can't take your jeep. All they can seize is non-exempt property. That means bank accounts, some electronics (so long as they aren't considered tools of your trade) and some miscellaneous items mostly of nuisance value.
