Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Collections - Payment History Proof

A third party has purchased my wife's credit card debt. This debt is 8 years old. I have asked for a payment history from the third party company. They told me it will take 90 - 360 days to get this to me. They have obtained a judgment at this point. I am outside of the 30 day dispute time frame. Is this legal? I have to provide documents quicker than that for them.

When did they obtain a judgment? Was your wife served with the lawsuit? Have you, your wife, or better yet, an attorney, reviewed the court's file to determine the validity of the judgment? If they have a judgment, I am not sure what you mean by a 30-day dispute time frame. It sounds like it is worth the consultation fee to have a lawyer review the court's file, and your wife's documentation.
