Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Company closing due to Hurricane

My dad's former employer (a marine

fabrication dock) is closing

down/merging to/being sold to

another company (they won't tell us

the exact details) due to Hurricane

Ike. All the employees have been laid

off as a result. My dad, who had

worked there for about 20 years,

owns a percentage of the company

(albeit only 2%, but the company

was worth millions) and has the

paperwork to prove it. He visited with

the company's treasurer yesterday

and she asserted that there was

nothing and that he will probably not

be recompensed.

What course of action should he

take?
