Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Confirmation of Arbitration Award

In July 2006, I received a petition regarding a CC debt with MBNA. I filed an answer with the court and never heard anything else. This week (a year later), I received a notice from the Judge in my county regarding a Hearing on Plaintiff's (MBNA) Motion for Confirmation of Arbitration Award. What do I do now? My husband has been unemployed for three months. I do not have the money to hire an attorney.

Re: Confirmation of Arbitration Award

Make an appearance in Court...the other side may not come..and if you had no notice of the arbitration..tell the Judge..

Re: Confirmation of Arbitration Award

In addition to the answer from McLeish, send a letter to the court asking the court to set aside the arbitration award since you never received notice of arbitration after you filed your original answer.
