What are the Consumer Rights with fraud charges on a ATM card.

I would like to know what rights I have when someone unauthorized used my ATM and has charged 2000.00 to my account.

Your rights basically begin when you notify your bank that the card has been misappropriated. Charges after that date are on them.

The rest depends upon whether or not you were negligent in allowing someone to gain access to your card and PIN. If you were, you will be held responsible for the charges.

If this is a bank error, they would be responsible. If someone obtained your ATM # and used it without your permission, $2000 is a felony. Report it to the police.
