Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
I have been contacted by an attorney stating that I am being sued for unpaid bills from my previous employer. It was for equipment rental company that I set up a contract with in 2006, my employment ended in April of 2009 and the company dissolved in early 2010. The equipment was rented in October of 2009 and I was not an employee of the company. Can they really pursue me?

Did the letter say that you HAD BEEN sued, or that you are GOING TO BE sued?
It sounds like you have received a standard-type collection letter.
My advice: Ignore this letter. Don't respond. Don't even keep the letter (find the nearest trash can). If/when you really do get sued, you'll be served with a citation; at that point, you need to sit up and take notice.
I think this guy is just trying to scare money out of you.
